Here’s ‘Alex,’ a detailed example we crafted in collaboration with Deep3D Studio, using our advanced tools, Hyperskin 2.0 and Hyperlook X. This project reflects our passion for pushing the limits of texture quality, capturing lifelike skin details that bring digital humans closer to reality than ever before.

This sample features 8K resolution texture maps provided by Deep3D Studio. It includes cross-polarized and polarized diffuse (tiff format), a specular map subtracted from the diffuse (tiff format), and a displacement map (exr format).

The initial capture serves as a highly detailed foundation, preserving the natural intricacies of human skin, from pores to fine wrinkles. Thanks to Deep 3D Studio’s advanced photogrammetry rig, we begin with an accurate base that's perfectly suited for further enhancement.

Important note: Everything except for his skin has been composited over the original plate. In other words, only the skin should be considered as CG rendered. Note that the real photo and the base scan were taken at different moments, causing the model to move slightly between the two

Our system allows us to generate a completely new set of textures from your albedo and displacement maps, offering 12 additional maps, including displacement, utility, and masks. This process also boosts the level of detail, refining the finer features of each map for a more realistic result.

These additional maps allow you to refine your asset directly within your lookdev scene, creating endless possibilities and providing complete creative freedom for your artists!

Here’s a series of before-and-after renders showcasing the transformation process. The before images feature the raw scan and texture maps provided by Deep3D Studio, while the "after" images highlight the enhancements made using Symbiote's cutting-edge technologies: Hyperskin 2.0 and Hyperlook X.

The Deep3DStudio scanning system uses 86 Canon DSLR 24MP cameras and polarized lighting. Half have polarized filters for a 16K cross-polarized texture map, eliminating specular reflections, while the rest use ND filters for consistent exposure and a non-polarized 16K specular map. Precision calibration ensures clean, high-fidelity raw data for hyper-realistic character development.
